Why this blog post? Why not! I mean what do you really have to lose? And you may just end up gaining more than you expected, if nothing more than a fresh perspective. I am currently going through a period in my life  where I’m “Just trying to get my life together”, only I’d say I’ve been going through this period in my life for almost a decade now. I have done a lot of different things with my life in the pursuit of self improvement and personal development that it is now an art to me, and I on the quest to become a master. For no other reason except that all this time, I honestly have not accomplished much of anything. As I struggle everyday, to fight procrastination and focus on improving myself along with my personal growth, I have put together a list of things that I found helpful, and I hope you do too.

3 Self Improvement Tips You Can begin using NOW

  • I listen to inspirational podcasts. When I’m up but I’m not feeling quite motivated, I like to listen to podcasts that inspire me. In fact I have compiled a list of my favorite podcasts to listen to when I need inspiration  and you can find that here.
  • I read books that inspire me, especially books that suggest a strong call to action. There are so many books I have read that maybe you too may find inspirational. You can find a list of some of my favorite reads here.
  • Downloading some good learning applications. I have three learning applications that I use, and I have learned everything from a new language, to how to do computer programming, and just about anything that you can pretty much think of. Feel free to send me an e-mail if you want to know what types of applications are the best to use, when learning something new.

Being a chronic procrastinator, I have found that taking baby steps work for me. I used to be afraid of looking foolish learning how to do things at my age, but I learned that you’re never too old to learn something new. You’re never too old to follow your dreams, no  matter how foolish, and if you’re sincere you will mostly find a way. If motivation seems to be an issue for you try saying some affirmations. You can find more on some of my own personal experiences with them here. I hope my list helps!

  1. […] I know you may have seen a lot of information lately on affirmations and the impact saying them can have on your life. After reading about them in various personal development books, and hearing them mentioned on some of my favorite podcasts, I decided to give them a try. I created a list (which you can also find here) of affirmations that resonated with the part of my life I wanted to change or improve. I then created my affirmations-on-the-go (which you can find that how to do here) and I decided that mornings would be time to say them aloud. I was not very well organized back then, so if I had enough time I would go through and say my entire booklet out loud. Most of the time however, I would choose to flip through the cards and whichever 5 affirmations I found, were the ones that I said out loud that morning. I continued this practice for almost 7 months (and counting) and since I have applied this discipline, so much has happened in my life. Here are 6 things that I have either learned or experienced since I started: […]

  2. […] Yes, I’m supposed to be a natural nerdy chick, but today I’m just going to be a lazy nerd. I don’t want to do anything. I just want to wake up successful, and rich…and successful and being rich wouldn’t hurt either. However, nothing is overnight but damn it where is the cheat sheet? These days it seems like you have to sacrifice so much to just to get ahead, not that I’m scared of putting in the time or work.
