Weekends are for Relaxation

After a long week with work, kids, extra-curricular activities, and more work by Saturday, I’m usually beat. Crowding the weekends with activities create a nice distraction too, but some weekends are just for taking it easy.

In fact, my preferred past time, is actually curling up on the couch and getting comfortable. Maybe you don’t have time during the weekend to take a break, and that’s fine. For whichever day you turn into a comfy day, here are 8 tips help you feel good and cozy on the couch this weekend.

7 Ways to get Comfy for a Day inside

Burn a Candle

Lighting a candle is a great way to start off a comfy day on the couch. I find that soy burns the best, and longest. However, I am not against a soy-wax blend candle either. In fact, if you’re a candle connoisseur, I would recommend trying out the Chesapeake Bay Mind & Body collection. This collection hosts scents that encourage positive attributes. My personal favorite: Balance and Harmony.

It sounds silly, but pulling on a pair of comfy socks works like magic every time! If you’re going to stay in on the couch this weekend, you need a great pair of socks! You can find some pretty cool comfy famous painting socks on Amazon, or the fuzzy kind if you’re really into relaxation.

Tea Please

Have a nice hot cup of tea! (or hot chocolate if you’re in a risky mood). If you’re going to drink some tea, try something organic, or with some herbal properties. I happen to like Tazo Assorted Tea myself. However if you would love a good tea WITH a good cause then, GlobeIn’s Justea is a great try. They actually help local artists in developing countries with getting jobs which is awesome!

Just throw on a fuzzy blanket, and curl up! I can’t think of a better way to get couch comfortable, then a warm blanket. You can find some great handmade blankets on Etsy, although some can get pricey. There’s a really wonderful handmade knit blanket made by LakeMono, that is not only comfy but affordable too!

Grab a good book

If you’re staying inside and getting cozy, might as well engage in some mental stimulation. Pick up a good book, and learn something new. Or grab a good read, simply for the relaxing pleasure of doing so. I actually have a pretty good list of book recommends on the site, you can check out! You can even curl up and Listen to a good book on Audible as well too! I love Audible books because sometimes, if the author reads it, you can get a clearer understanding of the book.

No, I’m not telling you to camp out on the couch, but the Cup Cozy Pillow will almost complete your comfy adventure. You can have this handy pillow right beside you. It will actually fit your tea mug (or any sized cup) and you won’t have to worry about spills either! A definite must have for a day on the couch I’d say.

Movies and Chill

If reading is not exactly your way to relax, then turn on a good movie instead! Depending on your mood, you can find a pretty great streaming selection on Amazon! I don’t have my cozy day movie list up for Amazon yet, but you can look for that list coming soon!

If you don’t see what you like on Amazon, you can also check out other streaming services like Netflix and Hulu too! I actually use all three services, and I pretty much decide on which service based on my mood. I think I’ll be creating some Movie Mood lists too soon, so make sure to check back for that list.
