It’s a brand new week, as well as a brand new month! I have really missed writing on the blog, but I’m back now. So let’s kick things off with Inspiration and Motivation to get you through this week. Often times, it’s easy to lose sight of our what, or even why we are striving for success. That’s why it is so important to keep our spirits hydrated with a little motivation to help us push through life’s challenges.
Inspiration and Motivation for the Week
The quote for this week is all about determining what is important to you. If you are going after a goal, or want to follow your dream then it should be a priority for you. It’s not an easy road to travel, so it’s crucial to decide just how important it is for you. Once you have made that decision, it will become the buoy that will carry you through some of the toughest times you are going to have. Keeping your goals at the top of your life’s to-do list will definitely lead to your success. There is no magic trick, and this isn’t some hype. A determined person, who is consistent no matter what will ultimately succeed. That’s one of the reasons I chose this week’s quote and I hope that you find it meaningful to your life too.
Inspirational Social Media Post/Video
I am a huge fan of the TEDtalk franchise. There is just a tremendous amount of wealth in knowledge of there on just about any subject. This inspirational video comes from one of my personal favorites Mel Robbins. If you have not already heard of her, then a great place to start would be to grab her book “The 5 second rule”. I actually talked briefly about her book in my previous blog posts: Books To Read. I had the pleasure of listening to the book on audible, read by the author and it definitely packs a punch. She has a lot of great applicable tips to help fight the beast known as procrastination. This particular TEDtalk is one where she gives some great advice on “How to Stop Screwing yourself Over.” A lot of times, when we procrastinate on things, we fail to realize the negative impact it has on our productivity. Thus, we end up really screwing ourselves over. This video helps to drive home the importance of making your goals important to you. Please enjoy the video below and leave your feedback in the comments too!
Inspirational Read Excerpt
This week’s book excerpt also ties into the necessity of making your goals important to you. It’s a reminder quote, that ultimately you are always in control of your life. If you can only focus on the obstacles in your life, that is the only thing that you will see. Which is also something that will hold you back. Instead of looking at what is standing in your way, look for ways around it. Trust and believe there is always a way, even if you end up creating your own. Your will is your own, and nothing can take that away from you. Have you ever heard of the term “strong will”? or if you have ever loved superheroes/heroes if you pay close attention you will realize most of them have one thing in common. That is quite simply determination. They have a strong desire to reach their goals no matter what obstacles stand in their way. You don’t have to have any magic abilities, or gimmicks, or tricks, only exercise the will that you have been given and take charge of your life.
Motivational PodcastEnd your Procrastination Today
This week’s motivational podcast comes from one of my personal favorites: “Don’t Keep Your Day Job” with Cathy Heller. If you haven’t realized already, I am a podcast junkie. You can check out my full list of Inspirational Podcast in my previous blog post. The episode I would like to share with you all, is the “How to be a Badass” with Jen Sincero. Jen Sincero is also another favorite author of mine, and if you haven’t read “You Are a Badass” you should start today. I also reference her book in a couple of other posts on the blog. This particular episode is jam packed with insights and tips to help you get and stay motivated. Not only that, Jen Sincero shares some of her own personal experiences and the steps she took to become a “badass at making money.” Another reason I happen to love the podcast “Don’t Keep Your Day Job”, is for the takeaways Cathy goes over at the conclusion of each episodes. I particularly love this part because I quickly can jot down the gems that were covered to go over with myself throughout the week. As an additional bonus, Cathy goes even further and includes some of her inspirational music too. You will not regret adding this podcast to your list, so you can thank me later.
